A Rocket to the Moon one of my many first loves when it comes to music. I have gone through various relationships with many bands, some showed me a good time for awhile but never stuck around long. A Rocket to the Moon though was no one night stand, this band even now that they are broken up get me through many sleepless nights still. Nick Santino has moved on and changed his sound but when I listen to his solo music a hint of the moon creeps out. This band, throughout all their EP's and albums, have kept that same familiar sound but managed to add something fresh as well. I believe that to be a valuable thing in a band. Listeners don't seem to enjoy when a band goes from one extreme to the next but a gradual change. Let me tell you that gradual is what they are.
I don't want you to fall asleep though! Their music is anything but a lullaby hence the "sleepless nights." The song "Dakota" has made its way to my ears dozens of times and I have seen them live any chance I could get sine 2008. Their songs just do not get old.
Seeing them live is like having an electric current sent straight through you. Every single time I've seen them I have left inspired and awake to life and all it's ups and downs. They really do send you to the moon. Dancing, kissing strangers, and just having a down right good time are just some of the things you experience. When I hear the song "Whole Lotta You" I cant help but move my hips just a little. Two years hard work was put in but when 2006 passed and 2008 came it was their time, and they sure showed us what they could do. A Rocket to the Moon took that rocket as high as they could get. With A Rocket to the Moon you are shown a heck of a good time and a love that lasts.
