OVO Arena is a large 12,500 capacity, indoor arena located in North London. In recent years the Arena underwent a £35m refurbishment and is currently the second largest indoor arena in London. Constructed in 1934, the original building was known as the Empire Pool. The centre housed two pools, a wave machine, and many sporting events were hosted within the arena. The pool was last used in 1948 for the Summer Olympics. The pool officially became known as Wembley Arena in 1978, welcoming the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Queen and The Rolling Stones to its stage. The arena still hosts performances from well established, big name musicians, as well as other events such as comedy and sports. Outside the front of the Arena is the "Square of Fame", featuring bronze plaques of artist names and hand prints. Participating musicians include Bryan Adams and Lionel Richie. Extensive parking is available and the arena is just a short walk from Wembley Park Underground station. Professional photography or recording equipment are not allowed.
