Whether you know them as Flowers or you know them as Icehouse, the Aussie band knows how to rock, and more important how to put on a great rock show. This can be mainly attributed to the work of Iva Davies, the lead singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist. There is a reason they have been around for such a long time, and through their years, starting in the 70s, have kept their old fans, and acquired new ones. People still flock to their shows, and the band makes sure to make it worth their while. The band is still very much rocking out, despite no longer being in their heyday. Because of this, a majority of the audience is completely mixed with people of all ages. The show itself is great fun. Iva Davies takes the time between songs to speak to the audience, from introducing the band and songs, to giving a lot of love for the support of the fans in the audience. There is even a point in the show where he introduces John Oates (from Hall and Oates) who came on stage to perform the song they co-wrote, “Electric Blue.” No matter what your age, the show is loads of energy and fun.
With all time classic songs like "man of colours", "great southern land" and "electric blue" to name a few the band delivered an impeccable true to original sound performance that had the entire audience, although seated, dancing in the isles. Lead vocalist Iva Davies sounds as crisp and clear as when the songs were originally released up to forty years ago. The saxaphone solos and light show during the performance were also notable highlights. For the ticket price I would not hesitate to repeat this one. The support act moving pictures also deserves a mention for an entertaining performance from lead vocals and great musicianship from the band. This was unfortunately the last show in the 40 years still touring calendar but you better hope Icehouse continue touring and take full advantage if they do. "They don't make em like they used to"
Just love Icehouse, have been a huge fan ever since I first heard them all those years ago.
The concert was absolutely fantastic, they played a good list of songs and I,m happy to say my favourites were in that list.
It was good to see some past pictures of them
on the screen on stage while they were playing. Well done guys, great show, and Iva you still sound great. All the best to you all.
Spent $180 thinking I was seeing (Flowers) Icehouse, but instead ended up seeing some local band in Dallas called Icehouse. Complete misrepresentation by either the local band or the promoter or both. Of course the real Icehouse had nothing to do with this. Wish I could see them! I would happily shell out another $180 - but will be more careful next time not to get taken.
Brilliant. Listened to Icehouse for the past 30 plus years and will for the next 30. Their songs never date. Lucky enough to see them play live in 1990 during their heyday, but seeing them in 2017 a highlight. A young teenage girl standing next to us new all the words...thanks for the last three songs including two 'Flowers' classics
June 1st event is NOT the original Icehouse. If you are buying tickets to see Icehouse in the States, be very careful to make sure it is not a local cover band with the same name. Songkick and BandsInTown are both misrepresenting this event on June 1st, 2018.
Check out my review on my Twitter account - @MarrinAndrews - just a heads up... All the hits... Never missed a beat... I've sounds and looks amazing... & It was 'dirty-sweet' (Trex would have been proud).
Best Australian band eva. Enmore is a fantastic venue. Icehouse has so much energy and their songs never date. Would love to see them play 12 inch versions and covers some day eg: Berlin tapes.
