Biografia
It was 2003 when the band first started to take shape, formed by a group of high school friends, comprised of Leighton Antelman (guitars/vocals), Maria Sais de Sicilia (vocals/keyboards), Steven McGraw (guitar/organ), Loren Brinton (drums) and Evan Arambul (bass). Developing the band's music at high school, they went on to enter and win a music competition arranged by Atticus clothing company, which meant that their song, "Smile, You've Won," appeared on the 2005 compilation CD, "Atticus: …Dragging the Lake, Vol. 3."
Following this success, the band then signed to Arizona label, HourZero, through which they were to release their debut album, "This December; It's One More and I'm Free." WIth the band having graduated high school, they embarked on several tours throughout the country in support of their album, joining the lineup of the Zumiez Couch Tour, Vans Warped Tour and an appearance at the Bamboozle Festival. Alongside these well established tours, they also played on the first Bamboozle Roadshow, alongside the likes of Saves the Day, Armor For Sleep and Set Your Goals in 2008.
After their time on the road, Lydia returned to the studio for their second album, "Illuminate," which was released in March 2008. They then embarked on a summer tour with The Dear Hunter, Eye Alaska and You, Me, and Everyone We Know. Having signed to Low Altitude Records, moving from HourZero, they re-released their second album in October 2008. In 2009, they went on their first headline tour, naming it the "Illuminate Yourself Tour," with Black Gold in support.
Shortly after, in March 2010, it was announced that Mindy White, their vocalist at the time, was to leave the band. This prompted a hiatus, following one more tour titled, 'The Lydia Finale: A Goodbye & Farewell Tour." However, this was to be short lived, with the band reuniting in September 2011, releasing a new single, "Dragging Your Feet in the Mud." This was followed by a new album, "Paint it Golden," which was to be their third release. In 2013, their fourth record, "Devil" was released, following a spate of touring alongside The Maine.

It’s all about this band, Lydia from Gilbert in Arizona, who take the form of an indie rock band. They have released four studio albums, three EPs and three singles but today, it’s all about their most recent full-length album, “Devil”. This venue is self released album is lead by the tenor vocals Leighton Antelman. His range is a force to be reckoned with, and everyone in this venue is fully aware. They have an audience who has been with them since the start, showing up to their shows and singing every single word without a care. They open with their song, the title track from their latest album “Devil”. The down tempo song, “Hospital” takes the set to an even better place, influencing a chorus of sing alongs. “Stay Awake” is a song of a similar tempo that keeps this party going. The atmosphere is like that of a campfire, with the dim lights and the flickering of the lights. Fair play, Lydia.
Lydia puts on such a beautiful show! Really adored their setup and the lights they put up and just overall so nice. Seahaven'a performance was absolutely amazing and Kyle Soto sounded just as perfect live as he does on Spotify. Turnover only performed they're songs from the new album Perephrial Vision and it was great and all but I would've been happier if they performed some of their old songs from old albums. Overall such a nice show besides the annoying girls who it was their first time going to a show and didn't put they're curly frizzy hair in a ponytail. And THANKS to the dude that kicked my arm while crowd surfing and left a fat bruise but you know that's what you're supposed to expect when going to a show.
Thanks for the great show! Loved it overall :)
Amazing live show. So much ambiance. It's amazing that they are able to, not only recreate their album sound, but build on it, making the sound wider. Plus, we got to meet and chat with them after the show. Just a great experience all around. These guys keep getting better. The new album is incredible. Looking into booking them for a private event.
