Biografia
Burnham is one of the success stories of the YouTube generation, having uploaded a couple of comedic songs about teenage angst to the website in 2006. Originally, they went practically unnoticed, but became sensationally popular once they were shared on the then-popular website Break.com; so much so, in fact, that YouTube itself - then relatively fledgling by way of comparison the staple of the internet that it is today - struggled to cope with the incredibly sharp overnight upturn in traffic. Burnham continued to upload content alongside his university studies, but was eventually forced to put the latter on hold in 2008 when his career within the media made it impossible to juggle the two.
Since then, his status as both a comedian and a musician has continued to grow steadily; as far as the latter interest is concerned, he’s released three comedy album - a self-titled effort in 2009, the follow-up ‘Words Words Words’ in 2010 and his latest, ‘what.’ in 2013, which tied in with a stand-up video special that made it to Netflix. ‘Words Words Words’ kept the music and the stand-up on separate discs, but the other records have blended them - Burnham’s ability to incorporate both styles is fast becoming his signature.

Bo Burnham’s is one of the funniest and most original comedians to have entered the comedy scene in a while. Although he performs standup, most of his material consists of comedic songs, which often encompasses taboo subjects such as race, gender, and religion.
Bo Burnham started his career as an internet sensation by posting his songs on youtube, which soon went viral after his post. Since then he has perfected his craft touring across the world and participating in many prestigious comedy festivals such as Montreal Just For Laughs. He also appeared on Comedy Central Presents in 2009 making him the youngest person to have performed on the show. His songs are often sung in a very fast manner, packing in jokes at rapid speed. The jokes in the songs often use puns and are heavily based on wordplay. Perhaps the reason why Bo Burnham is so funny is because of the authenticity of the material. Bo Burnham’s material is never presented in a macho way, but he relies on his self-deprecatory style of delivery to make his jokes stand out.
Bo Burnham often purposefully develops a pretentious, snooty stage persona in order to divide himself from his comedy. Some of his more recent shows have incorporated more abstract and unconventional methods of performing such as using pre-recorded material of himself, which engages him when he is on stage. Since Bo Burnham comes from a theatrical background it is of no surprise that he incorporates a more physical and scripted aspect to his performance.
When attending a Bo Burnham performance you can expect a little bit of everything that has made him such a well-respected comedian. He will perform jokes using the more traditional format of stand-up delivery, he will engage you in some of his hilarious songs, and he will present comedy in a more abstract theatrical performance.
Bo Burnham has once again managed to create an amazing and unforgettable show! I laughed harder than I have in a long time and I enjoyed the show more than any other I have been to. Bo has absolutely earned my respect and adoration as a comic and social critic who has a unique view of the world and society. He is not afraid to tackle social issues, the flaws in pop culture, and the pressure and expectations placed on him in a way that is accessible and makes you think while still providing a show that never fails to make you laugh. It is rare to find someone who is as witty, intelligent, and funny as he is that haves you leaving the show happy but also thinking about the deeper issues he talked about and the meanings of what he has said. It is an experience that you cannot get anywhere else and some of the things he has said have given me a completely new outlook on issues in life. Bo never ceases to amaze and I absolutely look forward to seeing his show again as soon as possible. I would absolutely say that the show was perfect.
His personality and genius shine through at his live shows. Watching his specials, he's seems calculated and has the elegance of someone way beyond his years. But at his live show, I sort of realized that he doesn't have any idea what he's doing -- in the best way. At some points I realized I was just watching an absurdly talented kid doing things that he thought were funny in an unapologetic way. He's a genuine artist, and his live show felt like a concert and a standup show and a performance art piece all mixed into one. It was very, very funny!
This show was amazing! It was a small theater, so the show had a great, personal feel. There was a little heckling, but Bo took it in great stride and actually used those moments and others involving the audience to create even more humor.
The sound was great, but at certain times, the music did drown out the vocals a little bit. It's to be expected in such a small theater, but was otherwise superb. The lights were spectacular, and the cues were perfectly executed.
Overall, the show was amazing. I would definitely go again!
The show was amazing! It was the best concert thing I've ever been to! Shouting out "I love you Bo!" And him replying "no you don't." Was pretty funny! I wasn't ex him to be so tall! He even dissed missouri by saying we stole barbecue (we all groaned so loud it made him laugh and he said that was the loudest groan he's got all tour!)! He also had us crack our knuckles at the same time! The sound was disgusting but awesome at the same time! It was a blast and couldn't ha been better!
The concert itself was great! Great set with some amazing new material :D I especially liked his "country song" and the one about finding true love. The only issue was it being all-ages and there being some reaaaaally rowdy young people at the venue. They were so loud that there were even times where Bo had stopped the show and even one of his songs because of people yelling out. He was cool about it though and handled it well. A real class-act. I would definitely watch him again.
I usually never write reviews for anyone, but Bo deserved one. This was hands down the best show I've ever been to, and everything that he said influenced me immensely. The experience was surreal, and Bo was able to find a healthy medium between comedy and introspection. I commend him on everything he did, and I hope with all of my might he returns to Las Vegas again.
10/10 Bo Burnham is a genius and has an incredible amount of talent! I cried from laughing so hard. The opener was really funny too! I was in the front row and there was a time when all I could see was light then Bo came out of that light. Pretty sure he's God.
Bo was hilarious and amazing as always! I will definitely go to see him next time he's in Milwaukee. The show wasn't complete, but he made up for it by playing some of his hits that the whole house knew and with some witty banter with the audience.
