Biografía
UFO hit their stride when they drafted in eighteen-year-old Michael Schenker to be their lead guitarist in 1973. They released three albums before their huge breakthrough in 1977 with the album “Lights Out”, which made it to number 23 in the Billboard 200 Chart and number 54 in the UK being certified Gold. It featured the singles “Too Hot to Handle” and “Alone Again Or”. The album has since been listed in the Kerrang! Magazine, as number 28 of the ‘100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums of All Time’. Their following album, “Obsession” released in June 1978, earned similar success, but was unfortunately the last album that would feature Michael Schenker. It made it to number 41 in the Billboard 200, and number 26 in the UK.
UFO’s eighth album, released in January 1980 entitled “No Place to Run” pushed the band up the chart further, earning them their highest charting album in the UK making it to the number 11 spot, being certified Silver. Unfortunately, they weren’t maintaining the same chart success in the US. February 1982 saw the band release their tenth studio album entitled “Mechanix”, which became UFO’s highest charting album in the UK making it to number 8. Following “Mechanix”, UFO achieved two more charting albums above the number 80 mark, with “Making Contact” and “Misdemeanor” making it to number 32 and number 74 in the UK Albums Chart. Their following album to chart was “The Visitor” in 2009 making it to number 99, and “Seven Deadly” released on February 27th 2012, which marked UFO’s 20th studio album release.

Hi. Well, the band delivered an incredibly good show. With Phil Mogg showing a great and definitely subtle British sense of humour. Maybe my best UFO show : saw them in 1983 making contact tour then 1997 walk on water. Probably the best of all three of them. Was it the venue was a small place packed with long time (a lot of white hair or bald). Many not looking "2015 young metal scene, but old die hard fans instead". The blokes kindly accepted to sign autographs take pictures. Real big rock stars for me behaving like they were newbies playing in club for their fans. The British touch of class. Phil's voice still awesome and emotional, Andy pounding his drums from the bottom of the heart, Paul as usual delivering his sense of melody we don't have to say more about. And the youngster bloke on the bass up to the challenge to be in Pete Way's boots. I hope he is healthy by the way. UFO is still just of piece of magic and represents for me elegance in hard rock. Thanks so much god bless you all guys you made my day. You'll be forever in my heart as the magic of music is at stake. And to finish with I spread the virus to my sons. Take good care guys. Come back any time I will be there except I'm dead. Cheers. Brice (from Lyon)
Saxon was great. Biff Byford still has his chops. In my opinion U.f.O. should have opened for Saxon. Saxon rocked the house. I have seen U.F.O. 3 times now and it seems every time I see them they grow more and more stale. There are plenty of songs that they can play and they always seems to choose to play the same more popular songs but never any songs off of the wild willing and innocent album which in my opinion was one of there last great albums. With only 2 original memebers I think it's time to hang it up. The only reason I went to this show was because I wanted to see Saxon which I hadn't seen since 1982 and they still rock. It seemed to me that the lead singer for U.F.O. almost needed a Cain or a walker after the 1st song. There musicianship was great, but there show was old, stale and when they did play the hits, there played the song alot slower then they did in the past..... so sad to see such a great band grow old. I love U.F.O. But it was painful seeing them in this state. I wish them well in the future although based on last night's performance, I don't think they will be around much longer.
First of all we were suitably warmed up by Russian rockers Redscool whose enthusiasm and 80s stadium style rock raised many claps and cheers.
This was my 5th outing to see UFO and was very welcoming to see the opening salvo of We belong to the night and Aint no baby going down a treat. Having been sceptical about Vinnie Moore in the past I felt he was red hot tonight putting his own stamp on the Schenker solos and crunching his own era tracks Fight night, Run boy run and Messiah of love, Phils banter with the crowd was great and even Paul Raymonds equipment changes couldnt stop the momentum.
Rob De Luca has morphed nicely into the bass slot taking centre stage for the intro to Cherry with the colossus that is drummer Andy Parker providing a solid foundation the whole night.
There were many happy faces leaving the Queens Hall having seen a great band perform great classics, just a shame they aren't playing bigger halls where they deserve to be.
U.F.O have been a band for a very long time now. They were at the forefront of a movement dubbed the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, and maintained their career that has been going for a total of four decades almost. Complete with Michael Schenker’s guitar, which is one of the band’s secret weapons with his signature sound and style of playing complete with his Jason Bonham depping on drums, they really do have their lasers set to stun this evening. They perform a variety of their singles that have shaken the metal world throughout their career including the song “Lights Out”, a huge track from the band that gives this horde of metal loving punters exactly what they ordered. “No Place to Run” is another song that gets this audience a little bit rowdy throughout, with its famous guitar riffs and huge melody lines, fantastically executed by front man, Phil Mogg. Well worth the watch for a metal band time machine
Dean and i had a great time, as we always will seeing a great band as UFO.Still amazed how Mogg has not changed that much over the years.Sound was not perfect buy how many times when you go to a gig it is.going to explore Vinne c/d i am sure its going to be good.As the rest of the band were just as good as well.did not see stars t/shirt for sale saw UFO at Exeter when the stars tour started just as good as last night.

Excellent show! The first few songs had some mixing board problems but by the 3rd song the band was dialed in and sounding great. Phil still brings with his vocals and stage personality. Vinnie is an excellent guitarest that will not disappoint. He had some great solos o. Love to love and Rock Bottom. Neil played great rythm guitar and key boards too. Check the set list out they really added some material to the set they don't always play which was nice to hear. Armored Saint was a nice treat to open the show as well. Great show!
Saw UFO in Bristol Workington and York last year and they were superb every time. They played it for real and their new music adds a freshness to their live show so it's not a greatest hits set. Every member of the band is excellent and Phil was on top form. Vinnie excels whether he's playing schenker chapman or his own songs , Paul Raymond is so talented vocals keys and rhythm guitar, rob is great on bass and vocals and Andy just awesome holding it all together - go witness the best rock band stil treading the boards.
This was an amazing concert. The band has been playing for over 40 years and Phil's voice has not changed. Vinnie was amazing on guitar and they played all the great hits along with songs from recent recordings that sound awesome. I was glad I finally got to see this band even without Michael Schenker on guitar, they were incredible. I feel Vinnie is as good of a guitar player as Michael is. Show gets 5 stars from me. One of the best Metal Bands ever, I can see why they are Eddie Trunk's favorite.
