OMG – OMC Was Great!OMC, the New Zealand born pop rock band also known as the “Otara Millionaires Club”, gave an enhancing and entertaining live show that took the audience full circle through their upbeat popular hit smash “How Bizarre” all the way through their perfectly mastered lineup of songs.
The band did not let the tongue-in-cheek meaning behind the full band name be lost on the crowd, and showed their appreciation for the attendee’s making indirect comments to boost the self-esteem of people in the world who are not blessed with luxurious wealth.The symbolic salsa air was everywhere as OMC - the shortened band name suggested by Pauly to his brother Phil, the bands original founder - was clearly evident for the crowd to enjoy.
A person not aware of the Kiwi background of OMC might otherwise mistake their unique sound for a band from the Caribbean Islands or South America. This unique musical sound lead OMC and the song How Bizarre to be considered one of the best songs of all time in New Zealand and this live rendition had the crowd dancing in place during its playing.Later in the show, Pauly Fuemana further displayed his unique talent and musical diversity with an acoustical version of “4 All Of Us”, picking out each flowing chord and note mixed perfectly with his lyrics and background vocals. A truly eloquent love ballad that left the crowd in appreciative silence.
The entertaining show was augmented by the professional stage presence of the band, with every dance step and move flawlessly choreographed to precision.
