Biografía
Singer-songwriter Randy Phillips formed Phillips, Craig and Dean in 1991 after failing to secure a label for his debut solo album. Alongside friends and fellow-pasters Shawn Craig and Dan Dean, who had also produced solo albums, released their debut, self-titled album in 1992. Landing at No. 13 on the U.S. Christian Albums Chart, the record blended rich vocal harmonies with positive messages, endearing Phillips, Craig and Dean to the Christian music market. The studio albums “Lifeline” (1994) and “Trust” (1995), followed before the trio issued the special event album “My Utmost For His Highest”, which earned the group their first Dove Award in 1995.
The band’s first Christmas album, “Repeat the Sounding Joy”, arrived the following year in 1996, generating regular radio airplay. In 1997 Phillips, Craig and Dean issued the full-length “Where Strength Begins”, before releasing the best-of compilation, “Favorite Songs of All” in 1998. Adopting more worship based themes and dropping the Christian roots aesthetic, Phillips, Craig and Dean subsequently issued the studio albums “Restoration” in 1999 and “Let Me Words Be Few” before becoming darlings of the Christian Singles Chart. The band’s seventh full-length album, “Let Your Glory Fall”, arrived in 2003 charting at No. 8 on the U.S. Christian Albums Chart and spawning the charting singles “My Praise”, “Hallelujah (Your Love is Amazing)”, and “Here I Am to Worship”.
In 2004 the band announced the release of their eighth studio album “Let The Worshipers Arise”, followed by “Top of My Lungs” in 2007, the No. 1 Christian album “Fearless” in 2009, and “Breathe In” in 2012. Both “Top of My Lungs” and “Fearless” secured the group Dove Awards, for Best Praise and Worship Album and Inspirational Album of the Year, respectively, following which, the trio released their twelfth full-length album, “Above It All”, in 2014.

Whoever said Christian Music was boring obviously hadn’t witnessed the trio of Philips Craig and Dean. Having sold over 2 million albums, the group have reached a lot of people with their music and message it’s the confidence that success brings that makes their shows an energising experience each night.
The trio all possess fantastic voices and hearing their songs of praise complete with pitch perfect harmonies and vocal interplay help to give the songs a heavenly quality. They are performed with an energy that makes it impossible not to be swept up by the experience, with the trio making for an inclusive event that welcomes crowds into the celebration. All these good vibes would be lost though if the music wasn’t up to scratch. Thankfully the band lay down a solid backing, with tight drums, luscious pianos and talented backing singers all helping to make the show and all round event. The greatest signifier of the quality of Philips Craig and Dean’s live act is that anyone could enjoy their show regardless of their religious views. Even though the songs are those of hymns and prayers, the music is so fantastic that you’re going to have a good time whatever your views and it takes a really special Christian act to be that universally enjoyable.
