The American indie rock band, Bad Books started in 2010. The group is made up of Kevin Devine and the members of the indie rock band Manchester Orchestra, as well as a drummer. The group got together when they were supporting each other on a tour and went on to release an album together in 2010. Their music is a bit of a collaboration of folk and indie music, which I unexpectedly started to like. This genre of music isn't really my kind of thing usually but I really like the music they have made together as their songs are easy to listen to, which I think is really important of musicians. The band got 4 east coast tour dates set up so they could support the release of their debut album, which toured different areas of America. The band is actually going to be in Nottingham soon, which is close to me and this is a gig that I'd definitely like to see. I also like them because one of their singles 'Forest Whitaker' was used on the comedy 'How I Met Your Mother' during season 9, I love that show and the music they often use so that also makes my opinion of them grow further. Their performances are very much the style of sitting on stools with a few spotlights and singing melodies together, it takes a lot to keep a crowds interest in this way but they manage to do it, they are a very talented group.
