The Steel Woods

The Steel Woods; I honestly can't find the words to explain how good these guys are! Their freshman album (Straw in the Wind) absolutely blew me away, there isn't a bad (or even mediocre) song on the album. Their sophomore album (Old News) though is even better than the first. In my opinion it's chocked full of some damn fine lyrical content. The word play, phrasing and mixture of words is unbelievably intelligent song writing. Not only are the lyrics brilliant but if you ask me there's no one that could possibly deliver those lyrics with the impact that Wes delivers them. Also, the musicianship shown by TSW is something you can feel all the way down in your soul! Wes is amazing on rhythm, Rowdy is ridiculously talented on lead, Jay is a crazy ass wild man on the circle skins & Johnny makes you feel the bass in your loins! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!!

This is literally one of my favorite live bands, along with Blackberry Smoke and Gov't Mule. I have seen them a total of 7 times so far, including opening for Blackberry Smoke (3 times) & Whiskey Myers (twice) and as a headliner on two occasions. I highly recommend catching them as a headliner if possible and you will feel that 90 minutes is too short. If not, catch them opening for someone and be prepared to be blown away and hungry for more. And I also highly recommend both of their albums (buy the cd's and support the band). I look forward to seeing them again in the near future.

Last night was my first time seeing the Steelwoods live,and I was beyond blow away. They absolutely rocked the house. Best part of the night after the show the whole band toke time to meet with everyone,for diehard fans that truly means so much. The Steelwoods are a very talented and professional group that will hopefully be around for a very long time.

This generation badly needed The Steel Woods. I'm so in live with this band yall.Not only do they completely smash every cover they've done, but their writing is so beautiful. Always thought I wouldn't have any great music to hand to my kids besides that of my mom's generation but now here they are! #growthewoods ✊

My third year in a row seeing this great southern rock band at 3rd & Lindsley in Nashville, Tennessee, was fantastic. Rowdy, Wes, & Johnny put on an awesome show as always. Sorry, I don’t know the new drummer’s name, but he’s amazing too.

Great show. Been following these guys for over a year & seeing them again next month in St. Louis. I first saw them in Redford Mo at a place called Barn At The Hamptons around 250 seating. Had a nice talk with the guys their great guys.

Absolutely the best band I have seen in many years,not only are they phenomenal musicians but they are very nice and incredibly humble.I can't wait to see them again!! Looking forward to their new album coming out soon.

The Steel Woods have always been great to see but now after this new album has been released it just gives us the viewers a bigger repitoire and we will have to wonder what’s songs will be played.

The Steel Woods is a good show. I would like to see them tour someday. They really got us hyped before REO Speedwagon performed that night. Great sound from the whole group.
