Thrash metal is a genre that’s so much more enjoyable to watch live, they bring theatrics and energy that aren’t translatable in recordings, and the energy is always incredibly high. I was however, a little apprehensive about seeing Onslaught live, as it’s been so many years since they began performing back in the 80s, I was worried that their age might have a negative effect on their performance capabilities. I couldn’t have been more wrong though, and from start to finish, Andy Rosser-Davies and Nige Rockett were jumping and throwing themselves around the stage with their incredible guitar skills ringing out clearly and precisely.
Although the band have been through many line up changes over the years, their sound was as tight as ever, and all of the new members seemed to fit in like they’d always been there. They opened the show with their track Welcome to Dying, which was a famous 80s track that had everyone singing along right from the start. They played a great selection of their tracks including their newer material from VI. Everyone was singing and dancing along from start to finish, and the energy was fantastic.
The show in Belém do Pará was wonderful! To my surprise, I was spending a vacation in the city of Belém do Pará, it was a blessing!
An excellent sho, no curling, very, very exciting! Many beers were being eaten up with the best of Thrash Metal!
Fantastic band, loved the show!
