The creation of electronic music is a popular hobby in the current era, and therefore it’s pretty difficult to break into the industry due to such high competition. Alex Gopher however, has managed to make that break with his funk, house, and dance-pop EDM.
Seeing him in concert is always exciting, as due to the fact that he’s not a singer himself, he often has guest vocalist performing alongside his epic DJing. The vocalist he had with him when I saw him perform was awesome and had a eerie soprano voice, but one that could also belt out encouragement for the audience to dance along to the tracks. As well as the singer, Gopher also used some vocal samples from other popular music, such as tracks from Billie Holiday. He plays on the Grand Theft Auto game, and played a couple of tracks from that in his set, which had everyone shouting out in appreciation.
He was super enthusiastic with his stage presence, and whenever he wasn’t scratching the decks and altering the crossfade, he had his arms in the air and was dancing along with the crowd. The show was pretty long, and everyone was exhausted from all the dancing afterwards, but Gopher maintained his high energy throughout and brought an epic performance to the venue for us.
