Loose Ends is a group which has existed since the early 80's. A successful British R&B band formed in 1980, signed to Virgin Records in 1981. Loose Ends had several urban contemporary hits with tracks such as 'Hanging on a string' reaching no.1 in the U.S charts and no.13 in the U.K charts, also ìSlow Downî reaching no.27 in the U.K charts and no.1 in the U.S charts. Loose Ends are the first British R&B band to have a no.1 gold selling Album in the U.S and going on to sell millions. The negative narrative that the group had broken up is untrue as they continued to make hits from 1988 onwards. Jane Eugene and Steve Nichol left the group so Carl McIntosh went on to produce the 'Look How Long' album released in 1990, with the hit single 'Don't be a fool' reaching no.13 in the U.K charts and no.10 in the U.S charts.
The last album by Loose Ends was called 'Look How Long' which was produced and created by Carl McIntosh which included UK's top vocalists Laurne· Wilkerson, Linda Carriere, Christine Levin, Sunay Suleyman. Carl McIntosh a musician, singer, songwriter & producer can also be heard on songs by Caron Wheeler, Ruth Joy, 5-Star, Phylis Hyman, Díangello, Angie Stone, Leon Ware to name a few.
There term 'experience' is exactly what it says, an experience. Carl's work can be heard throughout the early releases pre, 1980 right up to now. Loose Ends, now signed to the Digital Jukebox Records, Sony Music Distribution are currently in the studio writing new songs for the new singles and album to follow with his band members Linda Carriere, Christine Levin. Loose Ends are a British R&B group that possess a sound that sounds as though it has transcended across many years. Fronted by the soulful vocals of Carl McIntosh and vocalist Jane Eugene, they carry these songs with much prowess and conviction throughout the whole set. When they perform, it is evident that they have had a huge career up until this point. One of the key features of this band that I have to draw attention to is the guitar work of McIntosh. He is so under rated with what he plays which is a slew of riffs on his Fender Stratocaster in such a new jack swing kind of style.
“Hanging on a String” has this packed out gathering dancing from the start to finish, putting them in the right frame of mind for the rest of the set with it’s infectious chorus and great musicality, taking this audience on a journey through many mediums of soul and R&B this evening.

A solid group of friends throughout their childhood, Rahsaan J Bromfield, Jade Jones, Noel Simpson and Andrez Harriott (and former member Coreé Richards) together formed the group ‘Damage’ in 1995. To kick off their career, the group did a cover of Jackson Five’s ‘Anything’ to Big Life Records in 1995 and although impressed by their music, they waited eighteen months before being given their first record.
Records including “Ghetto Romance” and “Still Be Lovin’ You” that were set to be a mix of Garage and R&B were a club faze as the band became prominent for slagging down fellow music competition – including Craig David. As they squeeze in to a majority of genres including Pop-Rock, R&B, Garage, Urban and Dance-Pop the band rapidly reaped in a lot of fans and especially with the member Jade Jones and her close friendship with Baby Spice (Emma Bunton), their second single “Love II Love" peaked at number 12, whereas in the Christmas period their follow-up single “Forever” – which peaked at number 6 – was caught by the ear of Simon Cowell, who gave the groups producer, Steven Mac, a promotion in becoming Chief Songwriter-Producer for Cowell’s future projects.
