These guys are such high-energy from the minute they step onto the stage until their last note, which is usually long after their slated timeslot! You can see from the smiles on their faces that they're truly in the moment and jamming together like it's their first time. It's also a real treat seeing them perform in The Caverns. Having no backstage, the band approaches and departs the stage along the audience's righthand side so if you know this little secret, you just might be able to catch them sharing a quick prayer and team rally moment just before they step up to play. Wow! Keep jammin' guys! I always feel like I'm home whenever I get to see you.
The Stringdusters were great. Much better than when I saw them at DelFest last year which was during the day after what I heard was a great late night set the previous night. Just thought they lacked energy and didn't play their best songs. It was different at the State Theater where they did a great set.
I feel a little differently about the venue however as the acoustics for vocals are not great and the din from the many (certainly not all) people who carried on normal conversations throughout detracted from the music.
All in all, still a good night.
These guys never fail to bring the heat, and this show was certainly no exception. Seems like they were inspired by both the insane visuals of the venue, and the fact they they were joined by steel guitar master, Roosevelt Collier for a few songs. Whatever it was, the boys put on a stellar performance at Meow Wolf. We were lucky to have them in such a small and interesting venue.
What an awesome show! The Way Down Wanderers were first, and they were great--very upbeat and continually keeping the crowd hyped about the Stringdusters being up next. The Stringdusters were so, so good. My friend and I actually discussed road-tripping to see them again in Chicago tonight! I lovvvvvvved this show! Definitely a band I would see again.
Awesome show so full of energy!! Packed with complicated detail oriented music. They are so tight!
Such a talented group that are perfectly in tune with each other!
The opening act was excellent as well! Horseshoes and Handgrenades perfect with the Harmonica addition to Bluegrass. Money and time well spent!!!
As always, the Stringdusters put on a high energy show that was a blast! The house was packed. The addition of percussion in the 2nd set was really cool and worked well. These guys never disappoint!
