We went to see Hiroshima at the Tin Pan in Richmond. It was fantastic! This was the first time we have seen them in concert. Their sound is so unique! Each musician was so talented in their own right. But the star of the show was June Kuramoto who plays the Koto, an ancient Japanese instrument. She is an awesome talent. She gives Hiroshima it's unique sound. It was one of the best concerts we have ever been to. If they are playing in your area you must attend their concert!! They will not disappoint!!
June on the koto ~ such a peaceful sound then it can sharply strike a mood within a song while Dan's flutist notes takes you fluttering playfully upon the stars, drumming sets the tone of the songs, Dean adds the funk, Kimo fills our ears with keyboard sounds,...then there is one
Yvette who sings. Her vocals come in like a light breeze or strong like thunder & lightening. She dances and sways like she is a branch on a tree that sways with the wind.
It was a great show. I definetly enjoyed it.
Excellent band sounded as good as ever and I've seen them a number of times. Their music remains fresh and so did they, even after playing together for 40 years as they happen to mention. Definitely recommend them if you enjoy its mood Jazz, with a couple of unique and enjoyable twists.
This group has been around for a llllong time. I grew up listening to them in the 80s and was blown away. They didnt have many songs but what they had was "DYNAMIC" a must see concert
I have seen Hiroshima every time they visit Cincinnati. It is an awesome experience! I am a fan for life. Hiroshima has a style unlike any other band. June is phenomenal on the koto.
