Algebra Blessett has some incredible tracks that she’s written and released over the years. When I first heard her music, I was immediately captivated, but even more so when I found out that she writes all of her tracks herself. She picked up her skills from her early career as a backing vocalist on R&B tacks, and then broke away to pursue her solo work in the industry.
She opened the show with the first single that she ever released, U Do It For Me, which was a great way for her to show that she still remembers where she came from, and is grounded despite her immense success. She was a modest performer, making her way to the stage and thanking everyone for coming to the show before launching into her tracks.
Her band were also phenomenal, and it was evident that they perform together frequently, from the way she was glancing at them and indicating alterations in her set, for instance and extra chorus of Run and Hide, or the transition into the next track. She focused mainly on Recovery which is a wonderful album. She was great at getting the audience on board, singing along with her, and clapping to the beat. She has a unique and powerful voice, and I hope she keeps creating fantastic music.
Algebra Blesset was spectacular as usual. She was beautiful, charismatic, sweet and humble. The Hamiltones Were fantastic as well as Blanche J. I would definitely love to see them again concert. I would recommend not playing at this venue anymore.
