Christie Lenée

House Concert - Sun 23 Sept 2018 - York, PA

Thanks to my e-mail subscription to Acoustic Guitar Magazine they featured several up and coming Finger Style Guitar player including Christie. Five days later I'm attending the subject concert. To not spoil the experience of listening to a new artist (at least for me) I only sampled some of Christie's music on iTunes! Preface: I'm also a finger style guitar player and share many of the same musical influences as Christie including Michael Hedges, Andy McKee and Tommy Emmanuel among others.

Christie's performance exceeded my expectations! Her infectious attitude, outlook on life :-) , musicianship and upbeat and inspirational songwriting all combined for a truly exceptional live experience. I believe her opening track was Chasing Infinity, she also played Stay, Song for Micheal Pukac (the song that she won the 2017 International Finger style guitar award for), Breath of Spring, Evolution and several others. I didn't capture them all as I was in the front row and about 30 minutes into the concerts I agreed to operate Christie's phone to live stream her performance on Facebook (the stream can be found on her website). I bought her Chasing Infinity and Stay CDs and listened to them in the car going home.

If you get the chance I highly recommend seeing Christie live. I highly doubt that you'll be disappointed :) Also, a shout out to the host (Matt) for sponsoring this concert in his home and to his Jungle Juice drink concoction!

My husband and I first heard Christie in Winfield KS when she won the National Finger Picking contest. She was outstanding. We live in FL, so decided to go see her in St Petersburg. Her show was very good, along with her companions. We enjoyed the evening very much. We would certainly recommend going to see her shows whenever it is possible. Keep strumming, Christie!!

Christie is simply an amazing performer. Her skill set on the guitar is incredible. The guests on the sax and bamboo flute was a great addition. Her feel good music left me smiling all night. A fantastic night of great music...
