Fantasia Barrino, or simply Fantasia, is an R&B artist that I have been following for quite some time now, and at each performance, she brings something new and exciting, with her distinctive soulful and gospel voice. For some artists, talent shows aren’t the answer to success, but for Fantasia, who was already on the scene, the win of American Idol was what she needed to launch her into the spot light.
She opened the show with her debut single, I Believe, which made it to number one right away. She walked out on stage and sang the first verse and chorus before stopping to shout out to us in the audience to join in and sing along with her, which made the already excitable atmosphere even more intense and electric.
Her set was varied and fresh, playing tracks from her debut album, right up to Side Effects of You, and each track had everyone on their feet shouting and applauding. She mentioned her Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance before she performed Bittersweet, and was incredibly thankful. She performed the song with some edited sections, which was super cool to hear, as it’s something that doesn’t appear on the recordings. It was an incredible experience seeing her live.
FANTASTIC!
Fantasia showed up and showed out!
We had excellent seats 3rd row dead center. The VIP experience at the Microsoft Theater was great also.
Fantasia proves why she won American Idol. Performing is in her DNA. It was a great evening.
