In TURMOIL, percussionist Joss Turnbull pushes the tombak, mazhar and req into a raw and visceral sound world. Drawing on Persian musical traditions while radically extending the physical and sonic possibilities of the instruments, he moves between intricate rhythms, noise, resonance, voice and silence.
