Experience great songs in their most intimate and natural setting at the Song Dog music series!
In October I’ll be joined by the one and only Darrell Scott. This is a really exciting one for me y’all, I’m not gonna lie! If I could play guitar like anybody it would be Darrell. The fact that he is also an incredible singer and songwriter…well…some people have it all. He’s had hits with Travis Tritt (It’s a Great Day to Be Alive) and the Chicks (Long Time Gone, Heartbreak Town), he’s produced the Zach Brown Band, played in Robert Plant’s americana band, and that it is the merest scratch of the surface. Have you ever sat in an audience thinking “How did I only pay $30 for this seat? This act is world class!” Well, that’s Darrell. Come see what I’m talking about.
The Song Dog concert series happens every first Tuesday of the month in the Augustus (music venue attached to the Local Yocal BBQ and Grill) in McKinney. I absolutely love Zane and his band. My husband and I go see him every time he's in our area. Never a disappointment when we go to one of his shows. Zane Williams is very friendly, genuine, respectful, individual. He always takes time with his fans rather they are toddlers or adults. In fact, one of his songs will be the song my husband and I dance to when we Renew our wedding vows this fall.
* really wish we could get him to make an appearance. I honestly think that would be the ultimate gift of a lifetime.
Sincerely,
Nicole Hope
I have seen Darrell Scott once before and he was amazing. I would highly recommend seeing him! This concert however was not as great. It wasn't because of Darrell, he was still excellent, however the opening act (though talented and funny) was quite conservative political and religious which just rubbed me the wrong way. More importantly however, the opener played for a full hour and then it was another 30 mins until Darrell Scott came on. Then, for some reason, he decided to take an intermission. At this point we left as it was already 11:15 on a sunday. Excellent music still, just wasn't a great experience.
