Maurice Louca returns to Gaswerk Music Days to present Barĩy (Fera) برٌِي for the first time in Berlin. Released in 2025, the album revolves around hypnotic polyrhythms, vibrant acoustic textures and the distinctive sound of Louca’s custom-built microtonal guitars, weaving together psychedelic Egyptian shaabi, cosmic jazz and experimental composition.

For this special performance, Louca is joined by long-time collaborator Ayman Asfour on violin, Rosa Brunello on double bass and Dylan Greene on drums and percussion. Together, the quartet brings Fera to life through a rich interplay of strings, rhythm and electronics, balancing meticulous composition with the spirit of collective exploration that has long defined Louca’s work. Immersive, adventurous and deeply rhythmic, the music unfolds somewhere between groove, improvisation and sonic discovery.
