In the video, Folk Choir member Maggie Kuka explains that “Drawn Back to the Table” comes at a pivotal turning point in the musical. It is the moment when Cleopas, one of the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, recognizes the Lord in the breaking of the bread and finally understands that the traveler who has been walking with them all along is Jesus.

Maggie also shares that this song is especially meaningful to the University of Notre Dame Folk Choir—not only because it is the title song of the musical, but because, whenever they sing it, everyone smiles at one another. The joy and love in the room are palpable, revealing just how deeply connected the community is.
