We have loved Hussy Hicks every time we have seen, except this time the venue was way too large, only 110 tickets sold for the event, something was too loud as you couldn't hear Jules sing or understand what she was saying. Also, although Kristie Lee was very good, she sang with the girls for at least 30 minutes and the songs were down beat and no where near the energy we have experienced with the girls in recent shows at Blues on Broadbeach etc. We were disappointed as we had taken friends with us and we highly praised the bands other shows.
The band is great in small venues or small shows but Seagulls Stardust room was terrible, and the lights and smoke machine were way too much, nearly needed sunglasses!
Sorry my review couldn't have been 100% positive.
"All In" is the way I would describe her show last night. This was Natalie's first time in this region so her crowd wasn't as large as it could have been but that didn't matter because she still gave it everything. To me that's the mark of a professional it doesn't matter if is 1 or 100k you bring your best to every show and she did. Her stories a songs came straight out of her heart and life's experience. They were moving and hit all the feels because they and she were real. If five stars is all I can give I'd give six anyway cause she's the real deal.
