The Popguns are an indie guitar band formed in Brighton in 1987, known for their melodic sound, driving guitars, and the powerful, heartfelt vocals of lead singer Wendy Pickles. As part of the late 80s/early 90s indie scene they recorded two John Peel sessions and achieved indie-chart success with singles like "Landslide" and quintessential albums “Eugenie” and “Snog” before a hiatus.

2012 saw the band resume live performances followed by a new album, “Pop Fiction”, in 2014 on Matinée Recordings. The album received widespread praise within the indie-music blogs and appeared in many of their Top 10 Releases of the year. The band have continued to tour and record new material and released the “Who Never Found Love” EP in 2025.
