Eldridge Gravy & The Court Supreme has been a Seattle funk institution for 20 YEARS -- come celebrate with us! The night will begin with dance friendly tunes from DJ Marco Collins (KEXP) followed by two sets from Eldridge Gravy, joined by a troupe of go-go dancers, and a ton of special guests and ex-members. We'll be playing at The Swedish Club, a swanky place which features tons of free parking, a delightful wood floor to dance on, a super classy bar, and beautiful views of Lake Union. We'll also have a special limited run of merch available ONLY at this show.
Music ends at 11pm so we have time to go down to the after party at Black Lodge (just 1.5 miles away) where Emerald City Soul Club will play rare soul records till late -- add that on to your ticket and come party with us!
What can I say about Eldridge Gravy and his amazing band The Court Supreme? I was turned on to his music by a friend who attended the Wurst Festival in Wallingford a few weeks ago. The attendees of this little local festival had NO IDEA they were in for such a treat.
My friend immediately told me of the upcoming show at Nectar and purchased tickets the very same day. Eldridge Gravy is a soul-filled singer who belts out hip grooving music the likes this girl has never seen. The sound is pure funk. Backed by a kick-ass horn section and soulful sistahs on vocals--the sound is a fusion of all things "funkay" and it works. By day, a mild mannered white dude...aah, but at night--stand back! They funked up a sold out, absolutely packed Nectar on Saturday night. I fear that the next time I see this cat, he and his band will be in a much larger venue with far more expensive tickets. Regardless, I will pay and look forward to the next performance.
