Naarm-based Flamenco Fusion combo MALCURA are excited to be celebrating the release of their new single, “The Aether.”

"The Aether" is a lively and upbeat shot of acoustic adrenaline, which showcases Malcura’s signature musical blend of upbeat Spanish guitars with a diverse range of driving rhythms and, for the first time in the band’s career, lyrics!

Fresh from their maiden tour of Europe, which saw the band perform 37 shows in 35 days, including performances at Glastonbury Festival and the Montreux Jazz Festival, Malcura will be touring in support of “The Aether” this summer with performances across Australia!

MALCURA will return to the SOUNDBAR with long-time friend KENTA HAYASHI, 11 January 2026.

Kenta Hayashi is an innovative Japanese guitarist, vocalist, and master looper whose work explores high-frequency tachyon cosmic vibrations, uniting sacred masculine and feminine energies through transformative sound. Kenta elevates the concept of a one-man band, creating a full orchestral experience live on stage. Using only his guitar, voice, effects, and an expertly wielded loop pedal, he builds immersive soundscapes that blend psychedelic, dub-infused textures with harmonic overtones and hypnotic rhythmic foundations.
