Inner Landscape is a new project by Berlin-based Italian singer and composer Lucia Fodde, centered on her original repertoire and on an ongoing artistic collaboration with pianist and composer Tino Derado.
The project brings together previously released compositions and new, unreleased songs, alongside work emerging from the artistic collaboration between Fodde and Derado, including some of Derado’s compositions featuring lyrics written by Fodde.
The music moves between contemporary jazz, lyrical songwriting, groove and subtle Mediterranean influences. Improvisation and interaction are at the heart of the quartet, creating a sound that is expressive and dynamic while leaving room for spontaneity and musical dialogue.
Rather than following a single stylistic direction, Inner Landscape brings together different musical perspectives through a shared aesthetic, with a particular focus on melody, sophisticated harmony, rhythmic freedom, voice and the relationship between music and lyrics.
The quartet brings together four internationally experienced musicians whose different backgrounds contribute to the distinctive character of the project.
