See all your opportunities to see them live below!A most entertaining evening. The band are all excellent musicians with some brilliant guitar work and vocals from the D’Addario brothers. I fist saw the Lemon Twigs on Later with Jools. It was so refreshing to see a band doing something that was genuinely different, that I made the effort to see them live.
I haven't seen a tighter band in a very long time and would recommend them to anyone that likes live music. I will definitely see them again when they're next in the UK.
So much better than the Arctics! Save some time and leave the O2, grab a reasonably priced pint elsewhere when they're done an revel in their sound and energy. You'll have a better night for it.
Absolutely amazing show! So cool to see them in such an intimate venue. Just a hundred or so people - maybe two hundred. The clean, organized, and old-school sounds and progressions that come off in their produced work explode on stage to match their raw energy and spontaneous theatrics. Everyone was jamming out in the crowd. Both brothers had tremendous stage presence; both funny, endearing, energetic, and unique. Not having watched any of their live stuff previous to this show, I was blown away by how entertaining it was to watch Michael on the drums (he opened on the drums). He captures the stage from the very back, sitting down, and not talking with the audience. This says a lot considering how entertaining Brain and Danny were up front. Michael comes up to the front gradually, taking center stage as lead harmonizing singer in one song with no drums, and then taking over lead guitar and singing duties the next song (and for the rest of the night) as Brian moves onto the drums. Michael engages the crowd in a hilarious way at first, like a stand-up comedian, with awkward humor as a juxtaposition to his energy causing nervous laughter and another layer of brimming excitement for the unknown of what he will bring as the new frontman. Then he and the band suddenly explode into a song, and Michael is unleashed. Everyone in the audience was entranced. The energy and the emotions were amazing. Their music is done so well live. All of the non-linear rhythm, tempo, and progression changes in their songs that make them so interesting and fun to listen to at home make concerts all the more exciting as well. It keeps you constantly engaged, and it's so impressive to watch all the transitions happen while they are all jumping around. There was one moment where the amp for Michale's guitar was having technical difficulties and causing a subtle, but fairly painful high pitch noise during a solo of his. But this is easily ignored for the few seconds it lasted when the concert is this good. Besides, it's kind of cool when a little technical difficulty accompanies such an intense moment in the performance. Overall, the lemon twigs are a must see.
