‘I might be wrong but I might be right, Anyhow I know I trues, I better leave, I better leave, I better stop’…these lyrics to Silly Boy were the first I ever heard by The Blue Van, and just happened to be the track that they opened the show with, making everyone in the crowd sing along and dance like crazy right from the beginning. The incredibly catch track saw all of the instrumentalist take a short solo in the middle of the song, which the audience took as an indication for a dance break, and not one person in the auditorium was stood still. The image of the band is incredible, and the bright coloured lighting they had on the stage seemed to rub off on the band and the crowd, giving us incredible amounts of energy.
They played a great selection of tracks, from their debut album Time Machines and Sunbeams, right up to Would You Change Your Life?. I’d never heard the new album in it’s entirety, so hearing it live fir the first time was incredible. The Danish band were totally dedicated to every second of their performance, and their catch blues rock tunes had everyone singing along, regardless of knowing the tracks previously or not. The atmosphere matched the talent, and the band were great at interacting with everyone who had come out to see them perform, and when they same Man Up, they even held out the microphone in the chorus to have everyone sing along.
