Zulu Winter

Sometimes the best things can come out of a really bad start. The first time I saw Zulu Winter was one of those things.

First, a story, I had a friend who had just broken up with his girlfriend, two weeks earlier and he was stuck with an extra ticket to Keane and didn't want to go alone. Even though I don’t particularly like them, I decided to go to support my buddy. Plus he promised me beer.

We got there early because he had heard good things about the opening act, Zulu Winter. I thought the name was silly but, hey, I was being supportive so I went along with it. I certainly didn't regret that! Combining an indie rock sound with what I can only describe as a prog rock trippy vibe, coupled with a vocal sound that reminds me not a little of Chris Martin, Zulu Winter completely rocked my night and totally made it worth going to.

The music was hot and the crowd was intensely into it, cannot wait until they come around on their own. That’s a show I will not miss!
