See all your opportunities to see them live below!Really enjoyed the Maniacs. Their music is fun and lively. Mary Reilly is amazing Both as a singer and fiddler. The guys look like they really enjoy playing together and have fun doing it.
Great show! Loved that they played all their hits--that got almost everybody up dancing! But also loved the middle portion of the show where they did some extended jam songs that I didn't recognize. Also, the venue,The Crest Theater is gorgeous and what a great place to see a show--good accoustics and so intimate. Highly recommend the Maniacs, and will def go to another show at the Crest.
The Jamestown alternative rock outfit 10,000 Maniacs has been without its synonymous vocalist Natalie Merchant for some time now yet this does not stop the band touring to its ever loyal fanbase. Even with the subtraction of Merchant, the group has a whole plethora of hits and a consistently strong discography to entice the crowds in over and over.
Mary Ramsey is touring once again with the band and does an admirable job filling the shoes of Natalie on the older tracks whilst finding confidence in the newer material recorded as central vocalist. Their cover of Patti Smith's 'Because The Night' is a great re-imagination and settles within the setlist effortlessly, perhaps being their most recognisable track. They find strength in the hits as they race towards a climax via 'Trouble Me' 'My Sister Rose' and of course 'These Are Days'. The audience applauds wildly and the musicians onstage take a deserved bow, looking stronger and solid as a unit.
