Live reviews
Slaughter And The Dogs are a dirty sleazy Jam. Like Sid Vicious of The Sex Pistols spat on the floor and it mutilated into this beast of a punk band.
Of course SATD are from the 70's, when the punk scene took over with no care in the world. The era that defined the rock n roll attitude. They are also from Manchester which for me wasn't so keen on the punk thing but this band were flying the flag high for Manchester representing them against the southern punk acts.
The fantastic name for the band comes from lead singer Wayne Barrett's two favourite albums; "Slaughter on 10th Avenue," and a Bowie classic, "Diamond Dogs." But one of SATD's best albums has to be 'Do it Dog Style' 1978, their debut album. This was the album that sent them into punk heaven. They've also released plenty of live albums in their time because pull off defining shows. Joe Strummer would be proud to see a punk band as aged as SATD performing with such aura still, such possessive aggressive character.
SATD keeping the punk vibes alive.
Hey folks, the show on 23.02.2017 in the "Walfisch" was good, unfortunately they played only about an hour. But there was also a small audience, not even 100, I think. Was really a pity. They played old songs like "Boston Babies" and also of their new record: Vicious. Perhaps too little publicity was made that "Slaughter and the dogs" gave a concert in the "Walfisch". At Songkick, I've also registered it myself. Few posters and on the Internet the concert was hardly to be found. The date was conceivably badly chosen. On "dirty Thursday"? Carnival? There are probably also punks to celebrate the carnival! --- Otherwise the "Walfisch" is really a nice location, a cozy, small pub, a concert like at home in the living room. Now I am already looking forward to "Booze and Glory" on 25.03.2017 also in the "Walfisch"
Greetings Lydia
The band refused to play.
This event was held at the Elks Lodge in San Bernardino. There were several bands on the bill that evening. They all managed to play.
Never got an explanation as to why SATD decided not to play. We did get a refund which I didn't really care about. I wanted to see the band and I traveled a rather long way to see them. But the band SYMBOL SIX was great !!! Eric Leach is a great frontman and the band is tight.
I would recommend SYMBOL SIX !
