Biografia
Dylan Mamid (DC) and Zach Rapp-Rovan (Hooks) began their musical collaboration as Mass Productions, a project which championed the hip-hop tradition of crate-digging for samples, culminating in their first and only album release, "Fresh Beetz" in 2007, a hip-hop influenced record produced by the pair.
In 2009, they begun their next musical project, under the name of Zeds Dead, which looked towards drum & bass, dubstep and electro house for inspiration. Their name references a scene in Quentin Tarantino's film, "Pulp Fiction." They established a weekly night at Toronto's '751' venue, called Bassmentality, which went on to host some of the biggest names in bass music, including Borgore, Plastician, Netsky and Nero.
Following their success as promoters, Zeds Dead have gained the respect of artists worldwide through their own music, which manages to successfully blend many disparate genres into their own, unique sound. Their first single, "Rudeboy" was realised on Kissy Sell Out's label San City High in 2010, featuring vocals from regular collaborator, Omar LinX, a rapper from Toronto.Since this first release, Zeds Dead have gone to achieve significant success, with many of their releases topping the charts on Beatport and gaining the support of many top DJs.
Through offering free downloads of much of their early tracks, they managed to develop a growing popularity and support of many fans, who were eager to snap up these free releases.
Zeds Dead signed to Mad Decent, Diplo's record label, releasing "Rumble in the Jungle" which reached number one on the breakbeat chart on Beatport. They have gone on to release several EPs on Mad Decent, achieving moderate success in the US charts, with "Hot Sauce" peaking at number 13 in the US Dance Chart and number six in the US Heat chart.

Seeing Zeds Dead live is like experiencing the most powerful earthquake ever, in the most wonderful way. The heavy bass and general enthusiasm of the crowd literally permeates every inch of your body and takes you to bass heaven. I've seen Zeds four times over the last three years in two different countries and still can't get enough, I'm seeing them again in Montreal in August. They played "Rude Boy" as one of their concluding songs the last time I saw them in Montreal, I swear everyone in the crowd literally achieved nirvana, it was almost spiritual. It was probably one of the most memorable shows I’ve ever been to, right up there with Nero and Bassnectar. The awesome thing about Zeds Dead is that you can tell they are always beyond stoked to play, and always put a lot of effort into live shows. Their transitions are always smooth and take you by surprise, and just when you think it couldn’t get any better they drop something - BOOM - right out of nowhere and blow your mind. The sound quality is always spot on too. You see Zeds Dead once, and you’re hooked for life: there is no turning back.
The setting was Mad Decent Block Party, Toronto. Knowing little of Zeds Dead's work beforehand I had no real expectations for their performance, be it underwhelming or mind-blowing Damned if it wasn't mind-blowing. The crowd was already warmed up and geared to go by the previous acts (as if that made a difference), so when the duo known as Zeds Dead hit the stage an unfettered wave of energy blew through the crowd. Ranging from high energy, highly intensive dance oriented beats to deep bass-driven jungle grooves there was something for every fan of EDM to pick up on and enjoy. After hearing their first few songs it came to no surprise to me that they were scheduled to end the night. Quite the perfect climax The one downfall of their performance was the restriction set upon them by the venue. Being outdoors the entire show was set at a reduced volume. While still amazing, ideally see this duo indoors where the full experience can be achieved.
Zeds Dead was the best concert experience of my life. Especially at Red Rocks. I've seen every artist from Skrillex, to Zomboy, Flux Pavilion and all the other big names but Zeds Dead always comes out on top. Every concert they have they play their Eyes On Fire Remix and have the whole crowd sing it. It's so beautiful to see everyone's lighters and cell phones moving in the crowd back and forth followed by their voices echoing through Red Rocks. Zeds Dead makes sure that you will never forget your experience with them. When they play their songs like "Shut Up And Sing" , "Eyes On Fire", "Blink" and "Adrenaline" it sends unbelievable chills through your body. When you go to see Zeds Dead, get ready for the best night of your life. I would like to thank Zeds Dead for the best night of my life.
This was the first time ever for me seeing Zeds Dead live!
And it was amazing, the energy these guys had during their set was pure love! Even though they're Producing Music and Djing since like forever it sure became routine at one point...
But dam seeing these guys still enjoying their work and giving us such a good night after so many years is a big thing I really apreciate!
Not to mention their moves during their tracks!
Thanks for an unforgettable evening, I hope I'll see you guys again and I wish you all the best in the future!
(Looking forward to get a copy of some ID's you played last night, can't wait for it!)
Pure Love

Saw Zeds Dead the previous weekend at Hijinx Fest. Twice, early in their set, they overloaded the sound system and ended up in silence. Seeing them at Echostage, it was great to see them in action with a soundsystem that held up under the load. I was organ-rattling. Really helps the whole "getting into the music" thing when you can feel the music reverberating through every cell of your body.
In one word: Fantastic
I don't think I can explain how impressed I was by this event, but it was filled with energy, raving, and a more decent crowd than the JAUZ concert. They played not only dubstep, but drum and bass and even deep house tracks. This event ties with Seven Lions at Fvded in the Park 2016 for the best DJ set I have ever seen in my entire life.
We go to a lot of bass-head shows and festivals. Always great when ZD's playing. You REALLY want to hear them at a place with a SOLID sound system (EDC LV has been great; Hijinx's sound-sytem quit three times during their 2019 set). Looking forward to getting my face melted, again, come January (at Echostage)
Was not impressed with the bass it was weak, I was able to hear and talk to people around me. When I go to concerts I love feeling the bass go through me. I'm coming to see Steve aoki and carnage hopefully y'all fix the bass and bring it this time. But the people we great and I loved the set up.
five stars, ZD killed it as always. Ghastly was dope too, I got there too late to see unlike pluto but heard he was good. Probably too many people there were wearing zeds dead t shirts like noobs but I like the hype. would see again (and definitely will)
