Biografía
As of May 2009, Breakbot has been signed to Ed Banger Records, for whom he has produced a whole array of musical masterpieces. His studio album ‘By Your Side’ was released in September 2012 and made it all the way to number 19 on the charts in France. Additionally, he has produced six EPs as of 2014, from his debut ‘Happy Rabbit’ to his 2014 hit ‘You Should Know’ featuring Ruckazoid. Some of his most popular singles from his album include ‘Baby I’m Yours’, ‘Fantasy’ and ‘One Out of Two’.
Breakbot is most famous in mainstream music for his remixes, particularly his remix of ‘Baby I’m Yours’ featuring Irfane which was a summer smash hit in his native country of France. The music video that accompanied this single was nominated for "Best budget pop/dance/urban video" and "Best animation in a video" for the Music Video Awards on October 12, 2010 that took place in the UK.
His music style is a blend of French house, electro house, disco house, nu-disco, electro-funk, boogie and synthpop: an interesting and eclectic mix indeed!
Breakbot’s remix of Pnau's song "Baby" was used as part of the soundtrack in Gran Turismo 5, a racing video game, along with his song"Penelope Pitstop".

Breakbot (the stage name Thibaut Berland goes by) is of the French school of Electro House that gave us Sebastian, Justice, and Mr. Oizo among others (I’m sure Daft Punk must have at some point, somehow been a part of the family tree too). There is a dose of heavy, sweaty, Disco Funk that runs through all Breakbot’s music, and after hearing some of his mixes, in particular the supremely silky and loved-up ‘Lazy Sunday Selecta’, I figured he must play a pretty mean set as a DJ. My chance to be proved right finally came at an Ed Banger night (the label was celebrating it’s 10th anniversary). First off, something I really like about Breakbot live is that he does a lot of manipulating and mashing up with the samples and beats in the moment, so there’s more of a live element to it than a straightforward DJ set. This might explain why (some say) there were a few lulls in his set, but on the flip side, I think it makes him more interesting to watch as a performer, with his Jesus-at-the-decks look. ‘Baby I’m Yours’, probably his best-known tune and a slice of sunny, feel-good funky disco, was the high watermark of an irresistible wave of euphoria.
Breakbot, real name Thibaut Berland, is a DJ of French origin. His music is on point with the trends of the current music scene, which has seen the charts dominated by Disco Funk as of late (Daft Punk anyone?). In this context, Breakbot is current and fresh. Breakbot’s mixes are catchy and fun, infusing the perfect blend of funk, disco and pop. His music feels distinctly old school and Thibaut himself is requisite to this: dressed down in his vintage 90s gear, with his long shabby hair and beard, he cuts quite the figure. Yet there is also something oddly futuristic about his music, that gives it that added edge. Tracks such as ‘Fanatsy’, ‘You Should Know’ and ‘Baby I’m Yours’, which was left as the finale of the night, were highlights of the night and produced great crowd reactions. The atmosphere was generally great, largely because of the fun, disco atmosphere Breakbot creates on stage. His music is easy and fun to dance to. A general euphoria descended the crowd during the show and did not leave until Breakbot himself had left the stage, although the buzzing sensation afterwards remained with us.
Unlike neighbouring Germany and The Netherlands, you find France to be a lot more reserved and subtle about its dance music exports. Following in the footsteps of legendary acts such as Justice and Daft Punk, Thibaut Berland better known by his stage name BreakBot has been winning over crowds in his homeland and is spanning out to the rest of Europe.
He is an older musician yet this gives him an upper hand to the teen whipper snappers breaking through as his own life experience and experience on the circuit feed into the performance style. He appears on the decks and begins his show instantly whilst the crowds are still cheering and applauding, his long hair is bobbing around in the motion of the music as he never stands still for a moment throughout the show. There are the crowd pleasers including 'Baby I'm Yours' and 'Break of Dawn' from his own discography and his ingenious remixes of Röyksopp, Kavinsky and Digitalism to keep the whole room bouncing along to the very final high pitched piece of synth.
It was an awesome night with back to back incredible djs. Having Busy P as the opening act set the mood for night - people were down on the dancefloor from the very beginning and didn't stop til close. One of the best club nights I've been to in a long while!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I'm not a huge fan of his latest album, however, hearing it live made me want to listen to it more. Everyone on this stage made this a show worth more than 20$ haha! I honestly, couldn't have asked for a night.
Awesome show!!! I have been trying to see Breakbot live for a few years now and was not disappointed! Most definitely my favorite show of the year so far and same for my friend who saw 'em for the first time

Pretty much the best live show I've ever been to. The atmosphere in the Jazz cafe was electric. Honestly can't recommend it enough. Nobody else can do it like Breakbot. 10/10
