I’m a huge fan of rock, and hearing new and exciting twists on the genre is something that I find incredibly exciting, and something that White Hills have got spot on with their psychedelic and stoner rock fusion. Seeing a band like this perform live heightens the experience of their music, from the incredibly flamboyant costumes, to the energy they give in their performance from start to finish. They played several improvised sections of music from start to finish in their show, and hearing incredible music created on the spot is something magical that you’ll never experience from a studio recording.
They played a great selection of their tracks from their debut album, They’ve Got Blood Like We’ve Got Blood, right up to So You Are…So You’ll Be, which had everyone going wild. Their use of conventional rock instruments alongside electronic samplers and mixing desks creates a really organic and original twist on traditional rock, and watching it being performed live gave me a whole new appreciation of their talent. The entire band committed 110% to every single song, and were great at passing their energy on to the audience by shouting out words of encouragement to get everyone dancing. It was an incredibly fun show, and I’d definitely see them again.
The best show I have ever been to. A perfect setlist, great atmosphere, and above all, Erik is the best performer. He creates an awesome bond with the audience, engages fans to singing and dancing and having fun. If you havent been to one of their live gigs, you are really missing a great show.
