Singer/songwriters are extremely common in the music industry at the moment, but Miss Li, the Swedish artist has an edge and advantage as her song writing has a pop/rocky jazz and blues feel to it. She’s had various tracks played on adverts and in television shows, giving her the following that she so deserved. Her most famous song, My Heart Goes Boom, has been played on countless commercials worldwide, and is a popular opening for her show.
As Miss Li’s drummer began an intense drum solo half way through her opening track, and she began dancing freely around the stage in her hippie fashion, she came back to the microphone to introduce herself enthusiastically. The way that she interacts with her musicians and joins in with her interpretive dancers shows just what a great connection the entire production team have together, and a mutual appreciation of each others talents. She sang through several of her singles, as well as newer tracks from her albums, and all of her choruses were so well constructed and catchy that even people who didn’t know the songs were joining in. Towards the end of the show, she stood alone at the microphone, and sang a slow blues ballad, which really showed off the beautiful range of her voice. She’s one of the few artists that sounds just as good live as they do recorded.
