Dawn Pemberton and Krystle Dos Santos

Meet Me At Vie’s is an upcoming musical event that celebrates the rich cultural history of Hogan’s Alley, a vibrant black community nestled in Vancouver’s Strathcona area until 1972. This musical was written and created by 2 time Western Canadian Award winner Krystle dos Santos, also known for her previous musicals: BLAK & Hey Viola!

On April 4, Krystle dos Santos & Dawn Pemberton will be giving audiences a sneak peak into Vie’s, by performing stories featured in this musical, and songs made famous by some of the more well-known visitors to Vie’s, like Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis Jr., Ella Fitzgerald, and many more. This will be followed by a screening of Union Street, a 2023 documentary that focuses on the rich history of Vancouver’s lost cultural gem.
