Chicago funnyman Hannibal Buress has racked up a more than impressive CV in the last seven years. From TV appearances on some of the most critically acclaimed comedies in recent times such as “30 Rock”, “Louie” and “Bobs Burgers” to recent movie roles in the likes of “Bad Neighbours”, chances are, if you’re a fan of comedy, you’ve seen him on a screen.
Aside from that, Hannibal has built up a strong reputation as a stand up comedian. Often pointed to as the next big thing in comedy, only recently has Buress started to match up to the billing. Currently on his third stand up tour, having gained previous experience opening for the likes of Jimmy Fallon and David Letterman, the 31-year-old Ohio Native’s most recent show, “Hannibal Buress: Live From Chicago” has been met with much praise from critics, and rightly so.
During the show he had myself and the majority of the audience in hysterics with his bizarre, yet real life anecdotes, which often focused on Buress’ slacker approach to life, his recent travels, and a general social commentary on American life. One particular gag, which involved him bumping into Scarlett Johansson in a hotel, was a particular highlight. If you enjoy comedy from the other side of the pond, Buress is definitely a must for you!
