Belgian pop group, Clouseau, has been around for quite some time (since 1984), although mainly staying within the region of Belgium and the Netherlands. The lack in global popularity may be due to the fact that the sing in Dutch, with a few English songs thrown into the mix. Regardless, if you take the time to appreciate the music for what it is, and not what they say, then you’d really find a new appreciation for the group, especially when you watch their live set.
Because they have had such a long successful career, the fan base is actually quite large, especially for the venues that they play. The crowds file in, eager to get as close to the stage as possible, and then they cheer and cheer until the band gets to the stage. To build the anticipation, the lights come off, and then the music starts, then the red lights come on to illuminate shadows of the instrumental band, and then as the singer comes in with his verse, the spotlights highlight his presence. They have a really great chemistry, interacting with each other during the song, as well as a few words exchanged between songs; this chemistry really comes across and adds to the feel good time of the show.
