Ben Watt

Ben Watt is one of those artists who has pretty much given everything a go. He has made a name for himself as a musician, singer, songwriter, author, DJ and radio presenter. He is best known as one of the components that make up the duo Everything But the Girl. Quite a fruitful career to be fair! Tonight is all about his album that he released this year called “Hendra”, which features appearances from Bernard Butler and David Gilmour. With this last album, he adopted a sort of down tempo style of acoustic music which has gone on to gain plenty of critical acclaim since it’s release, earlier this year. The vibe tonight is definitely more of a crowd appreciating what’s going on in front of them than engaging so much in singing and dancing along. The music is quite reflective, and for most of the set it is just Watt with an acoustic guitar playing rather mundane songs to this audience, who of course appreciate it, in this intimate atmosphere. It’s good fun. Ben Watt’s back and forth with the audience is good too.

This was an outstanding performance and Ben told nice stories around the songs
and when listening to the Dous Spring song Interpretation you fell on your knees
